Ahad Raza Mir responds to 'Ko Ko Korina' critics with grace

Taking to Twitter, the 25-year-old actor has spoken about the matter at length

Shireen Mazari's remarks on Ahad Raza Mir and Momina Mustehsan's Ko Ko Korina stirred up a storm. The Awaari singer embroiled in a Twitter spat with the PTI MNA that has been making headlines since yesterday. Later on, Sherry Rehman mirrored Mazari's thoughts.

Finally, the Yakeen Ka Safar star has spoken about the matter at length. Taking to Twitter, the 25-year-old actor said, "So there has been a lot of talk about a certain song. So let's do just that. Talk about it."

He went on to add, "I am honoured that I got to cover Ko Ko Korina. Some people enjoyed it and some not to so much, which is fair. Look at how we love to appreciate and criticise. It shows our nation is alive. Even after hearing the song. Pun intended."

The Parwaaz Hai Junoon actor quipped that he has taken the criticism positively. He thanked HSY, who appreciated the effort by Mir and Mustehsan.

The actor further stated how Coke Studio has served as a platform for artists and Pakistani music. "Don't forget about all the amazing music they have given you throughout the years," he wrote.

Talking about Mazari's comments, the budding actor said, "I am also pleasantly surprised that the Minister of Human Rights noticed our attempt, although she did not have very nice things to say, I'm still happy she noticed. Just a piece of advice: better choice of words next time Ms Minister," he commented.

"All I'm trying to say is that we should learn to be kind. Even in our criticism. Trust me it goes a long way. Our song was a cover, and a cover is meant to deviate from the original. Its not supposed to sound or feel the same. And at the end of the day...it's a song," the Aangan actor said.

He also called out critics to respect the artists. "Let's respect our artists. All of them. Every time an artists works...they take a risk. Not for themselves...but for you. Trust me when I say we work hard for YOU. Not for ourselves. Want to critisise.. do it with love. Works better and definelty doesn't hurt as much," Mir continued.

He concluded by saying that he will continue to work thanks to all those who appreciated his efforts and will work harder to impress his critics.
