Alleged attacker: Acid thrower arrested in Lahore

LAHORE: Taking action on a news report, the police in Lahore on Monday arrested a man accused of throwing acid on his wife, Naila Bibi, from the city’s Green Town neighbourhood.

Express News anchorperson Mansoor Ali Khan on Sunday invited acid victim Naila to his show ‘To The Point’. The host had also appealed to authorities to arrest the accused and provide relief to the woman who had lost both her eyes during the brutal attack.

Green Town Police Station in-charge investigation Wajihul Hasan Shah said a case was registered on July 18, 2018 on complaint of Naila’s father, Muhammad Amin, against the accused Muhammad Khan, son of Ghulam Mustafa, who hailed from the Ranay Wala area of Bahawalnagar.

Khan had allegedly thrown acid on Naila with the help of three accomplices. Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had also taken suo motu notice on the victim’s application.
