QUETTA: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has expressed dismay over the government’s performance during the first 60 days, saying Prime Minister Imran Khan and his cabinet members lack clear vision for the country’s prosperity.
“Without proper homework they cannot hold the realm,” said the JI chief while addressing the media on Monday.

Haq said, “The nation will have to bear further burden of inflation as the government has decided to approach the IMF (International Monetary Fund).”
Pledging to fight for the rights of the people of the province, the JI chief said, “We have been hearing about a plot to reverse the 18th amendment. We will oppose any such move.”
On the rights of the people of Gwadar in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Haq said, “Billions of dollars are being spent in Gwadar, but unfortunately its people are deprived of even a single drop of water.

“Local fishermen and the masses in Gwadar fear that they will be driven out of their homes and lose businesses following the CPEC projects.”
Haq said people of Balochistan had the first right on natural resources, adding that jobs and relief for the people of Gwadar should be the top priority of the incumbent provincial and central governments.
On unemployment, Haq said, “The young generation has been looking for jobs despite the fact that 35,000 vacant posts are available in the provincial departments.
“Lawlessness prevails in the province despite allocating Rs30 billion for law and order.”
He blamed corruption for Balochistan’s deprivation.
