'We await justice for the victim and hope no such abominable incident occurs in future'
Thanks to the increased reach of media, numerous cases of mistreatment of children employed as house help have surfaced over the past few years. Only the past year, Tayyaba torture case made it to the court via media, however, unfortunately the system failed the poor and less privileged as the abusers of the minor were released on bail. Now another case of a minor girl house help named Kinza has surfaced, this time around the abusers in terms of their social stature are again powerful. Stringent laws relating to child protection and their strict implantation are needed. Only this will prevent such abuse.
The minor’s statement has been recorded by a judicial magistrate. We await justice for the victim and hope no such abominable incident occurs in future.
