Prime suspect in Kinza torture case goes into hiding, husband granted interim bail

11-year-old maid records her statement at civil judge Sameera Alamgir’s court

RAWALPINDI: Additional district and sessions Judge Tahir Aslam on Monday approved an interim bail for suspect Dr Mohsin Riaz while the prime suspect, his wife Ammara Riaz goes into hiding for allegedly torturing 11-year-old child maid Kinza Bashir.

Ordering the suspect to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000, the judge also issued notice to the Airport Police Station to present complete record of the case and the Kinza’s medical report by October 29.   The court ordered the police to not arrest the suspect till the next hearing.

Dr Mohsin arrived at the city’s judicial complex silently and quickly disappeared after obtaining the interim bail avoiding media’s attention.



The 11-year-old girl, who was brutally tortured allegedly by her employers, recorded her statement under section 164 at civil judge Sameera Alamgir’s court, where she officially confirmed the torture.

Kinza was brought to the court in tight security along with a female officer of Child Protection Bureau (CBP). When she appeared before the court, the civil judge asked the CBP officer along with policemen and investigative officer to leave the court room and then the courtroom was locked.

The woman civil judge assured the child that she was in safe hands, there is no kind of pressure on her, and that the justice will be served. The little girl cried while she told all her shocking ordeal, which made the judge teary as she penned down the incident.



Kinza was then given in Child Protection Bureau’s custody after completion of an hour-long statement. The victim’s father did not turn up at the judicial complex while his daughter was recording her statement.

Disturbing images and video statement of Kinza went viral on social media on Saturday, in which the child was seen showing wound marks on her face, arms, neck and head, which she said she had received at the hands of her employers.
