He continued, "My friend told me not to listen to it, he told me it's just haters and I was like, yeah, I'm not stupid. Then the other day, we were in my kitchen and the same friend says, 'Yo bro. Turns out you were stupid'."

Popstar Ariana Grande and SNL cast member Pete Davidson called their engagement off last week in quite the abrupt manner. The Dangerous Woman singer also announced a social media break and since then, neither her nor Davidson have spoken up about the break-up... until now.
The comedian finally broke his silence on splitting up with Grande, with a touch of comic relief. Davidson spoke of the split during his first stage appearance since the news - co-hosting comedy show Judd & Pete for America, reported E! News."Well, as you could tell, I don't want to be here. There's a lot going on," Davidson told the crowd. "Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?" he quipped.

The Saturday Night Live star also joked about covering a tattoo he had gotten in tribute of Grande during their relationship. Davidson and Grande had gotten many matching and other tribute tattoos during the time they were together. Grande recently made her first post-split appearance at a shoot for A Very Wicked Halloween, and was seen wearing a band-aid over one of her tattoos.
Speaking of said tattoos, Davidson said, "So, obviously, we [Ariana and I] broke up. But when me and her first got engaged we got tattoos. Then there was this poll in a magazine asking 'Was Pete Davidson stupid?' and 93% of it said yes," he told the audience.

The former couple moved into a $16 million apartment in New York City during their time together. A source close to Davidson said that he is "staying with family" and was "doing fine" after the split, adding, "He has a strong support system of family and friends around him that are keeping him laughing."
