Clean and Green: Students get unexpected guest during campaign
On the occasion the authorities of provincial scouts association especially Provincial Secretary Abdul Hai Sheikh, Assistant Provincial Commissioner Dr Mohammad Rafique, Dr Muhammad Afzal Babar, Abdul Munim Zahid Divisional Commissioner Ghulam Dastagir, principals of schools and colleges and large number of scout leaders were present.
Akram highlighted importance of trees and appreciated the role of scouts in country-wide plantation campaign. He also assured them of his support for the resolution of scouting issues and provision of resources.
Provincial Commissioner of Islamabad Boy Scouts Association Hasnat Ahmed Qureshi while addressing the gathering said that boy scouts have always played great role in constructive activities in the country and for PM Pakistan’s vision, clean and green Pakistan the boy scouts will play their role.
Before this the secretary Abdul Hai Sheikh of Islamabad Boy Scouts Association in his address said that this special hike aimed at raising awareness regarding cleanliness and to let people know that keeping the public spots clean is necessary and they should play their role in it.
Environmentalists call for promoting cycling
In this hike more than 500 private and public schools of Islamabad participated and they reached Daman-e-Koh after cleaning the Margalla hiking track where the concluding ceremony took place. Before, the hike, inaugural ceremony took place at Islamabad College for Boys.
Provincial Commissioner Hasnaat Ahmed Qureshi directed the boy scouts and wished them the best, he also led the hike as a symbolic gesture for few miles, the people and organisations which cooperated in the inauguration of hike include Islamabad college for Boys Principal Muhammad Rafique Sandhelvi, Capital Development Authority, Islamabad police, traffic police, private schools network and principals of all institutions.
