KARACHI:
Karachi suffered a massive power breakdown on Saturday with the national grid line having tripped.

Residents across the city started complaining of no electricity around 12pm. K-Electric said issues with the national grid transmission line had affected supply and restoration efforts were underway.

In a tweet, the utility said the sudden disruption of power was having a rollover effect on local circuits serving Karachi. K-Electric later tweeted that national grid supply to the city had been restored and power had returned across various parts of Karachi.

Areas affected included Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Clifton, Saddar, Lyari, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Nazimabad, North Karachi, Malir, Landhi and Korangi.
