KARACHI: Karachi suffered a massive power breakdown on Saturday with the national grid line having tripped.

Residents across the city started complaining of no electricity around 12pm. K-Electric said issues with the national grid transmission line had affected supply and restoration efforts were underway.

In a tweet, the utility said the sudden disruption of power was having a rollover effect on local circuits serving Karachi. K-Electric later tweeted that national grid supply to the city had been restored and power had returned across various parts of Karachi.
