Addressing a graduation ceremony of Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP) Grade-5 Learners in BAEC programme on Friday, he said that the progress of a nation is linked with the provision of quality education, and urged equal right to education for all.
The governor regretted that millions of children in the age group of five and 16 years were deprived of education in the province. He said the government was taking measures to ensure education for all children.
Yasinzai said that steps were taken to ensure attendance of teachers at schools. He stressed an urgent need for introducing a uniform syllabus in government and private schools.
Every fourth girl in K-P not in school
Speaking on the occasion, Adviser to Chief Minister on Education Muhammad Khan Lehri said the provincial government had imposed educational emergency in the province for positive results.
Emphasising that education is mandatory for everyone, he expressed concern over the future of out-of-school children. He said that 70 per cent of the children in the province were deprived of education.
The adviser lamented that there was only one school after every 40km in the province. He said 202 centres had been educating children under the UNICEF-funded ALP programme.
Lehri said Rs3.2 billion had been spent on the construction of new community schools in the province.
MPA Sana Baloch, Naseer Shahwani, Bushra Rind, Mubeen Khilji and officials from the education department also addressed the ceremony.
