Man shot dead over graveyard wall dispute in Faisalabad

Two passers-by also suffered bullet injuries and are in critical condition

A man was killed while two others were injured over a dispute in Faisalabad on Thursday.

A police official told Express News that the incident took place in a village 77-RB, Khurianwala. He added that a dispute was running between Sarfaraz and 23-year-old Inamullah over the wall of a graveyard situated in the area.

He maintained that on the day of the incident, Inamullah, his father Liaquat Ali and Sarfaraz attended a funeral in the graveyard when they got involved in a heated argument over the matter. However, when the arguments escalated, a scuffle occurred between them.

He pointed out that in a fit of rage accused Sarfaraz and his accomplices allegedly opened indiscriminate fire killing Inamullah on the spot, while two passers-by identified as 25-year-old Sufiyan and Usman suffered bullet injuries.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Faisalabad for treatment. The doctors at the health facility said that the condition of both the injured was critical.

Meanwhile, Khurianwala police said that a murder case will be registered against the suspects after receiving an application from the family of the victim.

Earlier, a man was gunned down over a financial dispute in Faisalabad’s Nishatabad area.

The police said that the incident took place within the limits of Nishatabad police station. Ejaz, 40, and Ghulam Qadir had a monetary dispute with Safdar Ali and others. The three men had an argument over the matter. However, when the arguments escalated, both parties allegedly opened fire on each other. As a result, Ejaz was killed on the spot, while the others suffered injuries.
