QUETTA:
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said he has not seen an election as rigged as the July 25 vote.

Addressing an Ulema Convention in Quetta’s Hockey Ground on Thursday, he said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had been ridiculing the nation.

The JUI-F chairman said he was astonished that Election Commission of Pakistan described the general elections as free and fair.

Fazl said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had been distracting the nation with the slogan of reducing the government’s expenditure.

He stressed on the need for unity among opposition parties. The JUI-F chairman said that there were differences between the opposition parties but they must stand together against the incumbent government. He added that his party was doing politics and contesting election within the framework of the Constitution.

He described JUI-F as the leading religious party in the country, which had been defending Islam and Pakistan.  He added that ulema in the country had a responsibility to teach the youth about the Islamic history.

Referring to the international conspiracies against China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said that international powers were attempting to halt CPEC to prevent the country’s economic growth.
