KARACHI: In continuation of sector-specific consultative meetings being convened by the TDAP, a meeting was held at the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) headquarters, Karachi with the Pakistan Fisheries Exporters Association (PAKFEA) on October 15. In the meeting, PAKFEA was represented by their Chairman Syed Akhlaq Hussain Abidi, along with PAKFEA members. The TDAP was represented by Senior Director General M Usman and Director General (South) Azhar Ali Dahar. During the meeting, it was observed that despite the fisheries sector possessing a considerable export potential, exports have shown minimal growth over the past years. Talking about the challenges being faced by fisheries’ exporters that are stagnating the sector’s export growth, the PAKFEA chairman said efforts should be made by the government to exploit the potential that exists in Sindh and especially Balochistan. Concerted efforts by the government can boost the exports of Pakistan in the fisheries sector.
