PESHAWAR: A computer operator has been suspended for allegedly transferring the funds of a tertiary care hospital into her personal bank account but the matter has apparently been settled.

Officials privy to the development have stated that funds of the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) suddenly disappeared after the operator transferred them to her account. However, they said that the hospital’s administration reached a settlement with
the employee without even lodging a first information report with the police.

“It has been resolved under the table and the employee only suspended,” an official privy to the development told The Express Tribune.

The official, who requested anonymity since he was not entitled to speak to media, stated that computer operator Shabana Kausar in the accounts section made the illegal transactions [of transferring hospital funds] into her personal account.

Once the hospital learnt of the matter and traced it to the computer operator, she was confronted with the matter.

“It has been proved but now, the hospital management has sort of internally resolved the issue but has suspended Kausar,” the official said.
