In an interview with Neha Dhupia on her chat show No Filter Neha, Kajol revealed how her family did not want her to marry Ajay and also spoke about her children.

The Gupt actor has always been mum about her personal life. However, she told Neha, "Nobody wanted Ajay and I to get married. My family was very confused. My father didn’t talk to me for a week when I told him I wanted to get married."

She added that her father questioned her decision as her career was flourishing and she was too young to tie the knot. But Kajol was adamant on marrying Ajay.

The 44-year-old starlet continued, "Ajay and I were very different people which is why a lot of people had reservations. They doubted how we would be as a couple because we were not very social back then either."

They tied the knot on February 24, 1999 and were tagged as the most unusual couple of Bollywood. Ajay was very shy and quiet while Kajol had always been outgoing.

But Kajol was quick to share her secret ingredient to maintain a good relationship. She stated, "We have survived because both of us have worked through it together. We have two kids. It’s almost like we have become one person who have these two children as their arms."

The couple has a daughter Nysa and a son named Yug. Speaking of her children, Kajol mentioned that they do not like her films. She said, "My kids don’t watch any of my films. According to them, I cry too much and I don’t do happy films. So hence and therefore, I should do more films like Golmaal."

Kajol added that her 15-year-old daughter is always very critical of her. She concluded, "According to Nysa, there are very few things I look good in. Her taste is very classic so anything that I like is very quirky for her."
