It's Breast Cancer Awareness month.

While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take steps necessary to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

Breast cancer is by far the most common type of cancer in females. However, medical technology has made advancements in early detection and treatment of this nerve-racking disease.

Superstar Mahira Khan has taken the initiative of spreading the much-needed awareness. As we all know, certain things are taboo within our Pakistani society and speaking of one's breasts is obviously one of them.

However, this stigma around speaking openly about certain things is the reason so many end up suffering, especially women. So, Mahira took it upon herself to not only raise awareness and funds, but educate some on this 'forbidden' topic.

"Itā€™s because of people like you women donā€™t even bother saying the word ā€˜breastā€™ let alone go for an examination," the Raees star clapped back at an ignorant being.

She continued, "Why donā€™t you take the quiz, to be more aware for the women in your family and yourself (men can also get breast cancer)," she stated, urging people to educate themselves on the matter and expand their knowledge.

She also took the quiz herself and was quick to share her result.

M HANAN IFTIKHAR | 5 years ago | Reply There you are, another "sensible" Pakistani makes a mockery of such an important issue. I have women at home, those who work with me and many others for whom I should be worried. I don't how women feel about this cause, but since I want all the women safe and healthy who are associated with me in any capacity say a wife, mother, sister, colleague, student or else. Mahira did the right thing, the guy needed this schooling and I would rather suggest that a program to spread awareness among the men regarding the importance of awareness of Breast Cancer shall be held. We men need to realize how sensitive an issue this is and why we should be equally worried.
