Judge’s Parents Murder: Witnesses absent, case adjourned

LAHORE: The hearing of Justice Javed Iqbal’s parents’ murder case was adjourned on Saturday as the prosecution’s witnesses did not turn up. ADSJ Ameer Khan directed the prosecutor to ensure that witnesses appear at the next hearing on June 18. Saeed Iqbal, Hafiz Aslam, Haroon Saeed, Muhammad Hanif, Malik Shafqat, Ziauddin, Judicial Magistrate Rana Sajid Safder, Factory Area Sub Inspectors Rana Adeel, Qasim Ali and Shabbir Ahmed and 25 others had earlier failed to appear before the court on Monday due to the lawyers’ strike. The court has already framed charges against the three accused in the case, including Justice Iqbal’s step brother Naveed Iqbal.
