Embezzlement: 2 Food Dept officials arrested

Anti Corruption Police arrested two Food Department officials for embezzling sacks of wheat.

GUJRANWALA: Anti Corruption Police arrested two Food Department officials for embezzling sacks of wheat on Saturday afternoon. Nowshera Vikran-based, food assistant controller Mushtaq Bhindar and storage officer Faisal Sharif were arrested on the complaint of local citizen Mehmood. Mehmood alleged that both officials were deducting half a kilo of wheat against every 50kg on the pretext of the wheat being spoiled. Mehmood said that the men were also paying less money for the wheat. During an inquiry, the officials were found guilty and the district coordination officer (DCO) filed an application for the immediate arrest of both officials. The accused, said that they were being set up by the department to take the fall for someone else’s crimes.

Azeem | 12 years ago | Reply Both the officials were extremely honest and wanted others to deal fairly. The accuser Tariq was checked from playing havoc with the staff members. That's why Tariq filed a false case against the two officials to spoil their reputation. Ground realities have proved their honesty and fair practice.
