The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced that they are expecting their first baby.

Meghan Markle had sparked speculation that she was pregnant after some social media users assumed the same. It will be her first child with husband Prince Harry.

Kensington Palace took to Twitter to share the news that the couple will be welcoming the baby in Spring of 2019.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," the tweet read.

"Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public," the palace added.

Meghan and Harry are currently in Australia on an official 16-day tour and will be travelling to Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

Meghan arrived with Prince Harry at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle; keeping a very low profile last week, and wearing a navy blue dress by Givenchy (which just so happened to be the designer of her wedding dress).

But along with the dress the Duchess of Sussex also wore a loose coat, which she kept on the whole time, despite the weather being pretty nice on Friday actually – a very pleasant 20 degrees. So why the coat? To cover up a baby bump, that’s why!

That wasn't the first time Meghan had been at the centre of speculation that she's pregnant thanks to what she wore. When she turned up to the '100 Days of Peace' at Central Hall Westminster last month wearing a bright blue, sleeveless Jason Wu dress that wasn't skin-tight over her stomach, the rumours were rife then, too.
