The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday activated Result Transmission System (RTS) and Result Management System (RMS) for the by-polls, according to Express News.

A team of National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) officials was present at the commission to ensure the system remains uninterrupted.

It is pertinent to note that the android-based application had ‘crashed’ on during the July 25 general elections. The ECP and Nadra pointed fingers at each other on the failure of the system while political parties cited it as a ‘proof’ of rigging.

35 seats up for grabs in crucial by-polls today

The system applied for by-polls entails the returning officer (RO) to send results through RMS while presiding officers will transmit results through RTS to the ECP.

Meanwhile, the polls organising authority's central cell has received at least 16 complaints pertaining to by-polls. Officials said the complaints were being resolved immediately.

The ECP has taken notice of women being barred from voting in  Zarha Maina area of Nowshera in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and media blockades at certain polling stations.
