Murder, extortion case: ATC defers verdict

KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism court,  accepting the request of an accused’s lawyer to present more witnesses, postponed the announcement of the verdict in the case regarding the killing of a factory manager, Saleem, over non-payment of extortion money.

The accused, Abdul Rahim, Ahmed Hassan and Anwar alias Baloch were produced before the court.


The court was scheduled to announce the verdict on Saturday, however, the lawyer for the accused filed a plea in which it was requested permission to present more witnesses.

Issuing notices to the prosecution, the court deferred the verdict. The court has been adjourned till the next hearing on October17. As per Investigation Officer Mohsin Zaidi, the accused were arrested based on CCTV footage. The case against the accused was registered at Gabol station in 2014.
