K-P Impact Challenge: 38 entrepreneurs get second tranche

K-P impact Challenge is a joint venture of the KP government and (LUMS)

PESHAWAR: As many as 38 entrepreneurs were handed the second instalment of the provincial Impact Challenge programme on Friday. The cheques were handed out by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Senior Minister Atif Khan during an event at Nishtar Hall on Friday. The K-P impact Challenge is a joint venture of the K-P government and a Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) programme to promote youth entrepreneurship, employment and to harness the skills of largely rural youth by involving them in the economic mainstream. LUMs is providing technical support while the K-P government has allocated Rs500 million for this project. Under the programme, launched during the tenure of the previous government, Rs200,000 to Rs500,000 have been given to 43 entrepreneurs of the province so far. These entrepreneurs, the government claims, are successfully running their businesses. “It is the first kind of government-led initiative for economic and social impact competition to promote youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and to provide economic opportunities to the talented youth,” said Atif while addressing the gathering.
