Peshawar police on Wednesday apprehended a man who allegedly killed his mother for, what he claimed, eloping with a man.
The accused, identified as Hassan, managed to flee after committing the murder. However, a special police team arrested the accused within 24 hours of the crime, and recovered the pistol used.

Last week, a young man and a girl were gunned down in the Spin Kanri village of Swabi in a suspected case of honour killing. The accused, Bilal Khan, allegedly killed his sister Bushra Bibi and his cousin Abdullah, suspecting that the two had an intimate relationship.
A day earlier, three members of a family were gunned down for honour in the Saraha Cheena village in Swabi.
