Employment benefits: Federal security apparatus gets Rs50b

The government has allocated Rs50 billion for salaries and other expenses of law-enforcement agencies working under the federal government.


According to the budget document, over Rs450 million has been allocated for salaries of the interior division. About Rs250 million will be spent on employee-related expenses and Rs21 million for employee retirement benefits.

About Rs4.7 billion has been set aside for salaries of the security personnel in the federal capital.  As much as Rs24.08 billion will be spent on salaries and other expenses of civil armed forces.

At least Rs23.8 billion would be spent on police salaries and other expenses, Rs220 million for construction and transport and Rs23 million for public health and safety services.

The Frontier Constabulary will get Rs5.6 billion for salaries, of which Rs5.3 billion would be spent on employee benefts.

Pakistan Coast Guards will get Rs1.07 billion and Pakistan Rangers have been allocated Rs11.45 billion.
