Sector I-12: Protesting allottees demand possession of their plots
Despite the passing of 30 years, development promised by CDA remains incomplete
ISLAMABAD:
Allottees of sector I-12 staged a protest at National Press Club on Saturday October 6, 2018, claiming that after the passing of 30 years they have still not been granted possession of plots which are rightfully theirs.
Tahir Mahmood, an allottee, said the allottees have been denied possession even after the lapse of 30 years. “Many original allottees have died since 1989 and their legal successors are being made to run from pillar gain possession of their plots but in vain. Capital Development Authority (CDA) should get up from its long sleep now and resolve this issue,” he demanded.
Several meetings were also held with the authorities of CDA in this regard, but no positive outcome has come from it except empty promises, said Mr Fahad Hameed, another allottee who had purchased a plot from an affectee of Sector I-12 a few years back. I have been waiting for the possession of my plot since then.
I am tired of CDA’s promises. The dream of the development of the sector is far from complete.
Khumar Gul another allottee said that the sector was allotted back in 1989 but the possession of a total of 6,266 plots remains in limbo. Many original allottees have died during the past three decades awaiting possession. It seems that our plots have been snatched away from us. We have been running from pillar to post, sometimes to the various departments of CDA at the same time holding meetings amongst ourselves and so on. But still we are clueless about the development of Sector I-12. It now seems that CDA has made this case a lifetime project.
Allottees were calling on Prime Minister Imran Khan to intervene in their plight.
