Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for Ayyan Ali
Customs court adjourns hearing till October 22
Non-bailable arrest warrants were issued for model Ayyan Ali on Saturday by a customs court in the currency smuggling case, reported Express News.
Customs Court Judge Arshad Bhutta was hearing the case.
“Ayyan has failed to appear before the court,” the judge remarked.

The judge also rejected an appeal filed by the defendant’s counsel to adjourn the case.
The court ordered Ayyan to be present in court for the next hearing scheduled for October 22.
Customs prosecutor Amin Feroz apprised the judge that the accused had remained constantly absent in as many as 50 proceedings.

In 2015, Ayyan was arrested at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Airport while boarding a flight to the United Arab Emirates carrying $506,800 without the permission of the State Bank of Pakistan. She was sent to jail and the government put her name on the Exit Control List (ECL). But she subsequently left for Dubai after she was released on bail and a court ordered the removal of her name from the ECL.
