UAF student bags first position in DICE festival

FAISALABAD: A student of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) bagged first position in the Distinguished Innovations, Collaboration and Entrepreneurship (DICE) Festival. He developed the Invelox Wind Turbine which can help produce cheap and environmentally-friendly energy in low-windy areas.

The two-day DICE Festival, innovative business plan competition, in the field of Agriculture and Food Sciences, concluded at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad the other day.

Students from 30 universities presented their business plans at UAF Expo Centre and set up 120 stalls. The event was organised by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation, in collaboration with DICE Foundation, and was presided over by DICE Foundation Chairperson Dr Khurshid Qureshi.

DICE President Saad Elahi, Institute of Horticulture Director Dr Aman Ullah Malik, ORIC Director Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir and other notables were present.

While speaking on the occasion, DICE Foundation Chairperson Dr Khurshid Qureshi said that they were establishing National Innovation Basket in which innovation ideas with sustainability would be worked out. He added the event will help the students to develop novel ideas and implement them in different fields.
