LAHORE:

The Pakistan Cricket Board appointed Salman Butt as  vice captain for the Asia Cup and the England Tour on Wednesday.

Opening batsman Salman Butt made his Test debut in September 2003 and his one-day international debut in 2004.

Butt has assumed the role of vice captain previously as well. He was removed from the post when the added responsibility supposedly began impacting his individual performance.

He's being assigned the post again as the national team prepares to visit Sri Lanka and England for their upcoming tours.
