Agriculture: Growers warned of fruit fly attack

Experts say that growers should use a mixture of 300ml protein hydrolyst with 30ml pesticides.

MULTAN: Agriculture experts have said that a recent dust storm destroyed several mango orchards in the area and have urged farmers to remove the spoiled fruit to avert the threat of a fruit fly attack.

The spoiled fruit must immediately be removed because female flies lay eggs in such fruit. A press release was issued in this regard by a media liaison unit of the Punjab agriculture Department on Friday.

The experts said that growers should use a mixture of 300ml protein hydrolyst with 30ml pesticides and 9,670ml of water as a pesticide against the fly.
