PM assures funds for FATA
The premier set up a task force for identification of impediments and facilitation of tribal areas merger with K-P.
Led by Advisor to the PM on Establishment Shehzad Arbab, the committee includes Governor K-P Shah Farman, K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri, Senator Hidayatullah Khan, State and Frontier Regions (Safron) federal secretary, the K-P chief secretary and Fata additional chief secretary. One representative each of the Military Operations (MO) Directorate, the general headquarters (GHQ), and 11 Corps (Peshawar) are also part of the task force.
The proposed integration also comprises police reforms. According to sources, at least 22,000 police officials will be inducted in Fata while Levies and Khasadar forces will be merged with the police forces of the province.
