Retired justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai appointed Balochistan governor

Appointment comes on the recommendation of PM Imran Khan

President Dr Arif Alvi appointed justice (retd) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai as the governor of Balochistan on Wednesday.

According to a notification, the appointment of the former chief justice of Balochistan High Court (BHC) was made on the recommendation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

BHC Chief Justice Tahira Safdar will soon administer Yasinzai's oath-taking ceremony.

Governors of all the provinces, except Balochistan, had already been appointed.

Muhammad Khan Achakzai who was serving as the provincial governor during the previous government's tenure.

Born in 1954, Yasinzai was appointed a judge in the Balochistan High Court on January 27, 1997.

He became the BHC chief justice on September 14, 2005 and continued until August 5, 2009.
