Under its ongoing crackdown, the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has cut off 50 illegal water connections in Quetta. Dozens of plazas as well as homes had illegal water connections.

According to Wasa spokesperson Sohail Anjum, on the instructions of the Balochistan government and Wasa MD, the Wasa magistrate along with a heavy contingent of police disconnected 50 illegal connections at homes, commercial plazas and shops on Makangi Road, while an illegal bore was also closed.

The spokesperson said that the crackdown would continue on a daily basis in which action will be taken area-wise against the illegal connections.

“The crackdown will continue without any pressure in all the areas in order to resolve the issues being faced by the Wasa and to facilitate the people,” said Anjum.

He appealed to the residents of the area who have illegal water connections to have them disconnected and cooperate with the Wasa officials.
