Multan's Nishtar Hospital VC assures compliance of court orders

The petitioners alleged that the successful candidates were restrained from joining their duty

MULTAN: Nishtar Medical College and Hospital Vice Chancellor Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha assured that all the employees would be reinstated after the verification of their credentials following the order of the court.

The VC said the matter was pending for the past two years. He said all the employees would receive their arrears. Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Hafeez had informed the court during a hearing that many candidates did not fulfill the criteria of merit in selection for the job. He said an inquiry committee has been constituted to check the credentials and if any candidate failed to fulfill the criteria, he would be suspended.

Justice Muhammad Masood Jehangir of the Lahore High Court Multan Bench set aside the interim injunction granted on August 7, 2018, on the petition of Ramzan Khalid Joiya and Muhammad Arif Mehboob Sheikh in the case of termination of 650 employees of Nishtar Hospital, Multan.

Tanzeela Huma and 50 other petitioners had filed a petition through their counsel Advocate Mohammad Arif Mehmoob and claimed that hospital administration after the announcement of posts of different cadres and called the petitioners for interviews. The petitioners said 790 appointments letters were issued to the successful candidates, however, they were restrained from joining their duty despite the issuance of appointment letters.
