Prime Minister Khan should be the first person to pay the fine so others who also own properties at Bani Gala can follow his footsteps, the country’s top judge remarked while hearing Bani Gala encroachments case at the Supreme Court in Islamabad, Express News report.
During the proceedings, the additional attorney general apprised the court about illegal constructions at Korang nullah. According to a report by the Survey of Pakistan on Korang nullah, people have built illegal building at the nullah’s land.

“Who’s responsible for ending encroachments?,” the chief justice remarked, adding that Imran khan had asked the apex court to take notice of the issue when he had not become the prime minister. “After taking the notice, we came to realise that the area was full of encroachments,” Justice Nisar said.
He said the court has already made it clear that all illegal buildings on nullah’s land would be demolished, whereas the decision regarding the Bani Gala properties must be taken by the government.
The chief justice urged the prime minister to set his own house in order first.
PM Khan’s counsel Babar Awan informed the court that the premier has already convened three meetings over the Bani Gala properties. Justice Nisar directed the PM’s counsel to apprise the court about the government’s decision in this regard by Friday, so the court can issue the final verdict this week.
The hearing was later adjourned till Friday.
