QUETTA: Provincial Information Minister Mir Zahoor Buledi has said that Gwadar Port is soon going to become a hub of international trade.

The minister was addressing a two-day seminar in Egypt conducted by South Asian Strategic Stability Institute (SASSI), says an official handout released here on Wednesday.

The minister said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), part of the Belt and Road Initiative, would change the destiny of the people of Balochistan.

He stressed on the importance of the role of Pakistan and Egypt in the region, and said the two countries could develop new economic ties.

“Asian countries have natural resources in abundance, including oil and gas. One-third of the world’s oil is produced by Asia… and that increases the importance of this region across the world,” Buledi said.

According to the minister, Gwadar Port and Swiss Canal are the most secure routes for oil transportation.
