Hearing Akbar’s bail plea on Wednesday, a two-member SHC bench headed by Justice Iqbal Kalhoro, remarked that there is strong evidence against the accused. The court later rejected the bail application.

Earlier the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Yasir Mughal pleaded that Inam Akbar did corruption on the behest of former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who is facing imprisonment.
“Rs4billon, out of a total of Rs5billion of corruption money was transferred into Inam Akbar’s account,” he added. The counsel for the accused pleaded that his client has been in jail for 9 months and he should be released on bail.
According to NAB, the court had rejected the interim bail of accused Sharjeel Memon, Inam Akbar and others. Akbar was arrested when his bail was dismissed.
