Seven bike snatchers, four robbers held in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Rural Zone police have arrested seven persons during the last one month who were involved in snatching motorbikes at gunpoint and recovered several bikes from them, police said.

According to details, SP (Rural) Liaqat Hyat Niazi constituted special team following directions of senior police officials to ensure arrests of those involved in criminal activities. This team including Sub-Inspector Yaseen Ali, ASIs Shafqatullah, Zulfiqar and others worked hard and succeeded to arrest seven robbers involved in snatching bikes at gunpoint from people in various areas.

They have been identified as Waqas, Temur, Usama Sajid, Faizyab alias Faizi, Baqir, Muhammad Hussain and Idrees Khan. They were involved in five cases in Sihala police area, four in Khana police area and one in Koral police area.

SP (Rural) Liaqat Hyaz Niazi formally handed over the keys of bikes to their actual owners who have appreciated the efforts of Islamabad police.

Meanwhile, SP (Investigation) Gulfam Nasir Warraich constituted another team to arrest those involved in various incidents.of robberies This team under supervision of DSP CIA Muhammad Hussain Lasi including ASI Suleman Shah and others busted a four-member gang of robbers. They have been identified as Nadeem, Kamran Sami,  Abdul Shakoor and Mansha.

Police team recovered two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway from them.

Meanwhile, ASI Muhammad Shakeel from CIA police arrested a suspect Farhan Gull and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Hanif from Bahra Kahu police arrested drug peddler namely Muhammad Amjad and recovered 2kg grammes hashish from him.
