‘Content committee’ formed to oversee govt advertisements

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on Tuesday constituted a 'Content Committee' that would approve advertisements for print and electronic media.

The newly-formed body will work as a watchdog to see that no advertisement should be released to print or electronic media by the provincial or federal government without prior approval of this committee.

The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage has issued a notification signed by Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Husain, who will head the committee.

According to the notification, the committee, comprising information ministers of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Balochistan , as well as Special Assistant to the PM on media Iftikhar Durrani and Senator Faisal Javed, has been constituted on Prime Minister Imran Khan's directives.
