Our team’s poor performance in Asia Cup

The 14th Asia Cup Cricket tournament is being played in the UAE

HYDERABAD: The 14th Asia Cup Cricket tournament is being played in the UAE. The performance of Pakistan’s cricket team against their archrivals, India, in the tournament has disappointed the spectators so far. Although Pakistani fans had expected too much from the national cricket team, the team failed to perform well in two matches against India. Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed led the team that lost a group as well as super four matches to the archrivals by 8 and 9 wickets, respectively. The Indian team outclassed Pakistan in all departments of the game, be it batting, fielding, etc. The batting and fielding of the national cricket team were below average. Our openers and middle-order batsmen, with the exception of Shoaib Malik, performed much below par. Fear of defeat rather than playing fearless cricket remained one of the causes of the team’s failure. However, questions can also be raised on Sarfraz’s captaincy. The Pakistan Cricket Board should take notice of team management and the captain with regard to bad performance of the team against India.
