Promoting the wrong

Letter September 24, 2018
The issue of infidelity is as old as the institution of marriage

TERULA, SPAIN: Over a period of time, people in many countries have learned to mint money through broken marriages or the ones that are on the brink of being broken. And that is why online platforms have been made available to people escaping from the ordeal of their married lives. The availability of such outlets has benefited many and has also played a role in ruining some relationships that could have survived otherwise. With time, now such online portals are being reportedly advertised on TV. The issue of infidelity is as old as the institution of marriage and unfortunately it has existed, exists and will exist with and without the internet. For this reason people are asked to “join” a club of such people who seek solace outside the marital bond, as if this was a football team. It is to trivialise a serious matter. I find it difficult to believe that someone is up in the morning and decide to cheat on their spouse and connect to the internet to see what possibilities there are.

It is the responsibility of all of us to promote the right and discourage the wrong, as money must not be the sole driving motive behind one’s actions and conduct.
