HYDERABAD: On Wednesday, September 19, the Islamabad High Court decision reverberated across both social and electronic media. Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar were released after having served around 60 days in jail. Many commentators said a lot of things — a victory, a relief, a deal. The possibility of the last being the one that was most often mentioned in many talk shows.
There were doubts being raised in the possibility of a Naya Pakistan being free from interferences. If true, this then raises the question, will the next corrupt leader, who is currently attending court hearings, also go through the same trajectory? It is time to ponder on this question, lest public trust is lost.
