Express June 02, 2011

LAHORE: A traffic warden in Lahore was beaten up by people after allegedly holding up a car carrying a patient.

According to initial reports, the traffic warden had detained a vehicle for over an hour carrying a patient in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle said that the warden had failed to provide any credible reason to keep their car in detention, especially after accepting a bribe.

As a result, the patient in the back of the car died due to lack of timely medical attention.

Passerby’s took notice of this injustice and started beating him up.

Police officers had to come and rescue the warden from the angry crowd.
