It seems that the dam issue has once again been fully politicised
LAHORE: It seems that the dam issue has once again been fully politicised. The way construction of dams is being opposed by certain quarters and political parties shows that they would like to see the country without water than support the construction of dams to conserve the huge amount of rainwater that flows into sea for lack of storage facility. We need new dams to prevent this huge wastage of water as we are a water-deficient country.
It seems that those who are opposing the construction of new dams are doing entirely for political reasons. They give their opinions as if they are not only experts rather super experts on dam construction.
Even the call for donating small amounts for the construction of dams is being ridiculed. Of course, dams cannot be constructed by collecting small donations; it is only meant to raise awareness of the necessity of building new dams.
