Unemployment affecting youths (II)

Letter September 21, 2018
The solution lies in fixing the system

KARACHI: In our country we have a significant number of private and government enterprises and institutions functioning, so there should be many job opportunities available in the country. Graduates should be able to find decent and appropriate jobs upon completion of their education. Yet what many experience after they have completed their education is a long struggle to find a suitable job where the salary commensurate with their qualifications and also there are good prospects for career growth.

Despite an increase in the number of qualified young graduates that make up for an active and available labour force, the situation is grim. Besides, another major reason for the qualified and the capable staying jobless are the appointments made sidelining merit. The solution lies in fixing the system and ensuring that the candidates appointed particularly in government offices make through the rigorous scrutiny process.
