Islamabad confident of Riyadh's support, says PM Imran

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have a strong people-to-people relationship, premier says

Prime Minister Imran Khan said the country is confident of Riyadh's support as the kingdom has always backed Pakistan, reported Al Arabiya.

“Anyone who comes to power in Pakistan will visit Saudi Arabia first,” Imran said. “Saudi Arabia has in the past helped Pakistan when Pakistan has been in need,” he added.

 

“Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have a strong people-to-people relationship,” reiterated the premier as he stressed the importance of addressing conflicts within and among Muslim countries.

PM Imran also praised Saudi King Salman and showed his willingness to duplicate the kingdom's anti-corruption measures in Pakistan.

"White collar crime is very difficult to fight ... its a very long process to retrieve the money but we have now set up a task force to retrieve our money that has been taken out of Pakistan," said the prime minister in his interview with the Saudi publication.
