KARACHI: The Sindh High Court called for arguments from the suspects' lawyers regarding corruption in the Sindh Workers Welfare Board.
A two-member bench heard the bail pleas of former labour secretary Nasir Hayat, Ali Sher Meerani and others in a corruption reference against the Sindh Workers Welfare Board (SWWB).
The suspects' lawyer argued that Mehreen Zafar and Abdul Razzaq's request for a plea bargain was approved and their names were removed from the reference. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor said the suspects illegally allotted 28 acres land of the SWWB in Gadap Town. They caused Rs340 million worth of damage to the national exchequer.
