MULTAN: At least four people were killed while another was injured in a road crash in Multan on Sunday. A police official told Express News that a van carrying passengers was headed towards Layyah from Bahawalpur when it collided with a truck near Sarwar Shaheed Chowk due to over-speeding.

As a result, four people including two women died on the spot while another sustained injuries. Police said all the victims belonged to the same family.

The identity of the victims was yet to be ascertained. After the incident, Rescue 1122 officials reached the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital. Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested four bandits and seized stolen valuables found in their possession.

Police said that the accused were identified as Muhammad Yar, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Nazim.
