An Indian man "desperate for a son" threw his elder daughter from the terrace of his house after his wife delivered 'another' girl on Wednesday in the village of Perdhauli, Times of India reported.

"After the birth of his first daughter, (Arvind) Gangwar, a labourer, was desperate to have a son. But, his wife gave birth to another daughter on Sunday morning, and he got angry with her. He got drunk on Wednesday evening, and when his parents and wife were having dinner, he took his elder daughter Kavya to the terrace and threw here from there. After the incident, the accused’s father Herpal Gangwar informed Dial 100 and police,"CB Ganj SHO Srikant Dwivedi said.
Arrests after Indian woman gang-raped, burned to death
The two-year-old child has been taken to a hospital where her condition is said to be serious. An FIR of the incident has been lodged. Police have been striving to nab the absconding suspect.
