Lahore Transport Company imposes fine on 621 vehicles

            The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) fined 621 public service vehicles for various violations on Wednesday. The vehicles fined included 18 buses, 13 coasters, 114 rickshaws, 47 wagons and 326 motorcycle rickshaws for violations such as the lack of a fitness certificate, a route permit, for using illegal gas cylinders and for overcharging customers. In addition to this, 101 vehicles were impounded at various police stations across Lahore. In the month of September, 4,774 public service vehicles were fined by the LTC enforcement wing. Transport, enforcement inspector and senior officials regularly distribute pamphlets about transport rules and regulations among drivers and those collecting fares at various locations across the city. LTC is entrusted with regulating, enforcing and planning public transport in Lahore in order to provide commuters with safe, comfortable and economical transport facilities.
