After assuming his office, he had an introductory meeting with the senior police officials at Central Police Office (CPO). Later IGP Imam visited CM House where he met the chief minister to discuss the law and order situation in the province, with particular focus on controlling street crimes. "CM directed the IG to make strict measures in connection with Muharram security and asked him to eliminate street crime," said the CM House spokesperson.
According to sources, a massive reshuffle is on the cards within the Sindh Police department after the posting of IG Imam.

Born in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1962, IGP Dr Kaleem Imam is among some of the most decorated and educated officers in the police department. He holds a PhD in Politics and International Relations from the International Islamic University, Islamabad. Dr Imam also holds an LLM in Human Rights from the University of London's prestigious School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), besides a Master's degree in Philosophy.
The IGP has previously worked on high-profile posts both at the national and international levels, with stints as SP of Sibbi and Naseerabad, SSP of Quetta, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, chief security officer to the Prime Minister, Director of the National Police Bureau, IG of the National Highways and Motorway Police.
Dr Imam also held the post of Deputy Police Commissioner (Operations) for the African Union - United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), besides serving in UN peacekeeping operations in Mozambique and Liberia.
